Memorial Day

Since Jeff took Friday off to take me to Vegas he did some work on Monday but he did take the late afternoon off and cancelled his night call and we went to the Tonaquint Nature Center and tried to feed the ducks. I think that they may hve been over fed that day because they did not want anything to do with us. The fish on the other hand were quite happy to swarm all over the leftovers. We also found a bunch of tiny frogs which we hosted at home until last night when we released them into our friend garden. Keith Malissa and their kids + 1 joined us after to hang out on a blanket and enjoy the good weather. It was a good day.

The joys of raising a boy!

I have to brag a little bit before I explain the picture, after all it is my right as a mom to do so. Ryan had a 6 month doctor appointment a few days ago and as I was explaining all the fun

things he has learned to do since we last saw the doctor the doctor just shook his head and said

"November 2nd right"

I said "You mean his birthday? Yeah November 2nd"

"And you were there right?"

"You mean in the delivery room uh yeah I was there"

"O.K. I was just checking to make sure that they didnt give you a three month old at the hospital"

Ryans doctor said that he is the most advanced boy that he has ever seen. :)

O.K. now on to the picture, Ryan and I were sitting on the stoop on the front porch when the cat walked by. Well he was pretty sure that that black cat was the coolest thing he had ever seen and he wanted to get his hands on it. So he kinda does this lunge standy thing and faceplants into the mat which is imbeded with little white rock things. I picked him up and he had road rash all over theleft side of his face. This was one of the first big boo boos but I know that it will not be the last!

Why Mommies are smarter then Daddies

This is probably a true story but it did not happen to me, it is quite funny anyway

One day my mother was out and my dad was in charge of me. I was maybe 2 1/2 years old and had just recovered from an accident.

Someone had given me a little 'tea set' as a get-well gift and it was one of my favorite toys. Daddy was in the living room engrossed in the evening news when I brought Daddy a little cup of 'tea',

which was just water. After several cups of tea and lots of praise for such yummy tea, my Mom came home. My Dad made her wait in the living room to watch me bring him a cup of tea, because it

was 'just the cutest thing!' My Mom waited, and sure enough, here I come down the hall with a cup of tea for Daddy and she watches him drink it up.

Then she says, (as only a mother would know... :) 'Did it ever occur to you that the only place that baby can reach to get water is the toilet?'

He will not be conatined!

Boozer is now a bulldozer! He has decided that crawling around in my bedroom is not so much fun anymore and has taken to mastering the two and a half stairs it takes to get out of my room. This boy is gonna be trouble!

Go Cassie Go

These pictures a a little blurry but it was so funny I had to share. Cassie got bored of waiting for her turn at gymnastics so she decided to lay down. And she was rolling on the floor too it was really funny.

Cassie has been in gymnastics since February and she is really liking it. Saturday she participated in Barefoot Gyms "Summer Games". She did a great job and we are so proud of her!

I decided to let Cassie paint my face at the ward party last night.
She really had a lot of fun doing it. And was quite the little artist.

here we are all finished.

Ward Party

Ryans little buddy Logan. Someday they will cause all sorts of troublke together.
Cassie getting her face painted. She never sits still for me.
I took this one myself. I can never seem to look normal when I take my own picture.
Ryan was on Jeffs shoulders and the sun was just going down so the sky turned out so blue I love it!
Jessies heart. She was so proud of it. Another great ward party under our belts!

Just for you Spencer

we love to get together but it is just not the same without you Becca!

We miss you all so much!

Chapstick

I recieved this e-mail from a dear friend who I dont get to see very often anymore. Luv ya Grace!

Oh the joys of motherhood

Chapstick

We had this great 10-year-old cat named Jack who just
Recently died.

Jack was a great cat, and the kids would carry him around
And sit on him and nothing ever bothered him. He used to
Hang out and nap all day long on the mat in our bathroom.

We have three kids, and at the time of this story, they were
4 years old, 3 years old, and 1 year old The middle one is
Eli. Eli really loved Chapstick. LOVED it. He kept asking to
Use my Chapstick and then would lose it. Finally one day I
Showed him where in the bathroom I keep my Chapstick and
Explained he could use it whenever he wanted to, but he
Needed to put it right back in the drawer after he finished.

That year on Mother's Day, we were having the typical rush
Around and try to get ready for church with everyone crying
And carrying on. My two boys were fighting over the toy in
The cereal box. I was trying to nurse my little one at the
Same time I was putting on my make-up. Everything was a
Mess, and everyone had long forgotten that this was a
Wonderful day to honor me and the amazing job that is
Motherhood.

We finally had the older one and the baby loaded in the car
And I was looking for Eli. I searched everywhere and I
Finally went into the bathroom. There was Eli. He was
Applying my Chapstick very carefully to Jack's ... rear end.
Eli looked right into my eyes and said, 'Chapped.' Now if
You have a cat, you know that he is right -- their little
Bottoms do look pretty chapped. And, frankly, Jack didn't
Seem to mind. The only question to ask at that point was
Whether it was the FIRST time Eli had done that to the cat's
Behind or the hundredth!?!

And THAT is my favorite Mother's Day moment ever because it
Reminds us that no matter how hard we try to civilize these
Glorious little creatures, there will always be that day
When you realize they've been using your Chapstick on the
Cat's' butt.

My babys all grown up!

Ryan is 6 months old and I just cant get over how fast the time has flown. For the sake of his "baby book" here are a few of his acomplishments.

Ryan has one tooth that just broke through yesterday on the bottom.

He loves to eat and has just recently mastered swallowing without spitting all the food back out.

He surprisingly prefers vegetables and meat flavors over fruit and juice but will eat anything.

He has been mobile for about a month but has started really taking off in the last week with true crawling.

He absolutley adores his sisters and they can make him belly laugh just by talking to him.

His favorite things are candybar wrappers his sisters his mommy "working" with his daddy and a lady at church that can get him to fall asleep when I cant. (in that order)

We like to call him booza or brother bear and we are not sure if he even knows what his real name is.

Baby boy we love you so much and we are so happy to have you in our lives! Happy half birthday!

Ryans Party

Ryan turned 6 months old on Friday so we decided to throw him and Rosalyn a half b-day party. It was quite cold but still a lot of fun.
