Trunk or treat

The College put on a fun Trunk or Treat last night to hand out safety tips for Trick or Treating as well as some candy. We went with our good friends most of them friends of Jeffs from High School. Liz made really good sweet and sour meatballs and rice that she made in her rice cooker from Japan.(I thought of you Hillary as I was eating my sticky rice so yummy!) It got a little long by the end for our Indianna Jones so his mommy came to the rescue and carried him Lammy style.

Here is Jess and Shiloh.

And here is our little Indiana Jones. I gave him a sucker at the beginning and he just sat so happy the whole time we were gone. It was a fun Halloween Eve and it will be great to make it a family tradition!

Picture Tag

This is a quick and easy one. Go to the third folder in your pictures and post the first picture in that folder.
Tag Natalie Hillary and Becca again

Halloween parade

The preschool had a fun Halloween Parade planned where the kids went from classroom to classroom singing two songs for each class. They also trecked down to the bookstore and the cashiers office. They have the kids a few treats for singing and even made one of the classes sing along! It was so very cute and Cassie actually sang so that gives me hope for the primary program this year. Cassie walked down the hallway holding hands with Snow White I never did get a good angle to get a picture but there was so much cuteness it was oozing down the walls.

Cassie has really enjoyed being in preschool this year and as you can see Jess takes every chance she gets to partcipate too. She is looking forward to her turn at preschool next year.

Indiana Jones down in front and the bright orange furry guy are Cassies preschool carpoolers Bubba (Indiana Jones) usually comes to play at our house after school on Wednesdays. It is fun to see how Cassie plays with a boy. Usually it involves a lot of running through the house playing tag.

Ryans Balloon

This balloon has been around so long I dont even know where we got it from but it has come in handy as of late since Ryan has like 40 teeth coming in at the same time and he is not really his happy self. This is what he likes to do with practically every toy he has. I am really excited for his birthday on Sunday so he can get his new toys. I also got two huge bags of balloons to blow up for him to play with!

Daddys little girl

Cassie has been asking for months for Jeff to take her on a date, so yesterday he told Cassie that they were going out that night. She was so excited she told everybody we saw the whole day. No matter where we went Walmart, the bank, weird guys on the street she would say "I am going on a date tonight!" So about 4:30 we started getting her ready for her date. She picked out a very special dress and we did her hair. She said it had to be up becuase it was a date. Then she said she needed lipstick.
Her date was ready promptly at 5 and we took a few shots of the happy couple before they headed off for the evening. They went to The new Blue Bunny Cafe and had pizza and shared a banana split. It was a great evening for both of them.

"Pumpkin Hair"

Cassie was asked to wear her costume to school today so Jessie told me she wanted to get dressed up too. So when I put her up on the counter to do her hair she said she wanted pumpkin hair. This would be my version of pumpkin hair. I took the hair flower idea from "She Does Hair" there is a link on the sidebar for her. You can find the flower under braids. Anyhoo I did the flower and then curled the ends a little more to look like pumpkin vines and added a green bow for the stem. If I had orange hairspray I would have added that as well.

I won!

Our ward had a pumpkin carving contest at the party last weekend and we won most original pumpkin! This is Jessies Pumpkin
And Cassies pumpkin

This is the one we entered in the contest. Jessie ripped one of the legs off of the spider but you cant really tell.

Ryan was so cute he was walking around with a spoon and a plastic pumpkin like he was scooping out the guts with the girls.

Here is my guts

Jess loved scooping

Cassie did a really good job getting her pumpkin cleaned out

It was a great afternoon and this was the first year the girls actually understood what we were doing so it made it really fun. I am already planning for next year!

We had a harvest festival tonight for our ward and they had the kids dress up in their costumes. Jessie peed in hers before we left so she wore a little red riding hood costume that we had laying around. Cassie was a cheerleader.
And Ryan was the most awesome Indiana Jones EVER!

He totally looks like he just got done roughing up some bad guys!

Warning to all mothers

Let me begin by saying to all you mothers out there, listen to your children they really do know what they are talking about! Jessie has to do everything Cassie does.
So Monday afternoon Cassie stubbed her toe at her friends house kinda bad and it was bleeding a little. When I got her home I had her lay on the couch with her foot in the air and I gave her some Motrin to help with the throbbing . The next morning Cassie woke up and came in my room and she looked like this.

She is opening her eyes as wide as she can in this picture. As you can see there was a problem. So I asked her what she did to her eye. She said it was the medicine that you gave me mom. I am thinking no that cant be right because if it was an allergic reaction then wouldnt both eyes be swollen? Well we took her in to the doctor and sure enough it was an allergic reaction to Childrens Motrin. So they told me to give her som Benadryl and she would be OK. Well when we got home I started doing a little research online and found out that Jhonson and Jhonson is in the middle of a lawsuit right now for children going blind after having an allergic reaction to Motrin!

So no more motrin for my kids! Another side note Zyrtec is not the same as Benadryl it will not reduce the swelling due to an allergic reaction! Well Cassie is all better now and I have learned some new lifes lessons.

Shroomies

I gotta tell you all about our new favorite lunch spot! It is called Shroomies and it is located in Ancester Square where the grassy area is. A few weeks ago we went there for lunch and this guy had ordered the Fatboy. It is I think three pounds of hamburger with smoked sausage pastrami and six slices of cheese. If you eat it in 15 minutes you get it free. This guy looked so sick he looked like he was going to puke. He only ate about 1/4 of the burger but he had enough buddies there that they all finished it off after the 15 minutes was up. The burger only costs $10 so you really arent out that much if you cant finish it.
I think maybe the only thing it should have come with and didnt was a bottle of Mylanta!

We got the mini version of this guy and Jeff and I were stuffed after sharing it. This week I had the chicken breast with grilled mushrooms and onions and swiss cheese. Oh so good. They also have really really good fries. I think next time I am going to try the burger with pineapple and teriaki sauce mmmmm so good!

Twins?

I wish I had a dollar for every time someone asked me if Cassie and Jessie are twins! We were at the library this last time. I always thought I wanted twins so I guess this is the next best thing. Jessie must have gone through a growth spurt the last couple of months because she has just shot up like a weed and is almost as tall as Cassie. As soon as my camera is back from being fixed I am going to take a picture of them together back to back to see exactly how close they really are.

Too much of a good thing

So I was trying to decide how to do the girls hair for church and our family pictures this afternoon. I went to a few of my favorite hair blogs which led me to more hair blogs which led me to bow blogs which led me back to some more hair blogs. Well I spent at least 45 minutes on the computer looking at hair before I decided what I was going to do. (you will get to se photos in aabouta week when we get them back from the photographer) Someone at curch asked me how much time I spent doing the girls hair and I said t only too me about 5 minutes each to DO the hair but SPENT45 minuted trying to decide which hairstyle to do! Like I said too much of a good thing!

Had a bunch of people sleep at the house the night before (12 people and 2 dogs) watched General Conference and had lunch with friends. Then watched more General Confernce and had some friends over for dinner. Today I made bread and shrimp dip and taco dip for lunch. Now we are just relaxing until the next half of conference. And for dinner pork loin mashed potatoes green beans salad and peach cobler for desert. mmmmmm I love conference weekend!
