Its Saturday Night Live!!!

Saturday nights at our house have become movie night. It serves a few purposes #1 it gets the house cleaned up and ready for Sunday because the girls want to earn their movie and #2 it is a great way to spend a Saturday night with the family. We all don our PJs and break out the snacks and pop in a movie. Tonight was Coraline. It was good but quite scary in parts for Jessie. Ryan just kept laughing and saying "punny". I cant wait for Abby to come and join in the fun. There is nothing better then a snuggly newborn on your chest while you watch a movie!

Lets Cheer some More, Jessie is FOUR!

Jessie,
You turned four yesterday and I am still a little dazed that you are already that old! I can remember the days leading up to your appearance were not so much fun for me. But as soon as you arrived all that was over and we had our special baby girl. There are so many things you add to our family we wouldnt be complete without you. I love when you sing and dance for us. You are such a good helper to Ryan and you are always willing to help me when I really need it too. You love your big sister so much and want to do everything she does. This year though you are starting to do things on your own and you are discovering who you are. You LOVE to play dress up and ask me everyday if you can put on your swimsuit or your ballerina dress, and you cant wait to start preschool. I hope you had such a happy happy birthday! We love you so much! Love Mom and Dad

Oh the places she will go

If you dont want to read the story just keep scrolling there are some really cute pictures from Cassies first day of school

Oh, the Places You'll Go!
by Dr. Seuss

Congratulations!
Today is your day.
You're off to Great Places!
You're off and away!
You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes
You can steer yourselfany direction you choose.
You're on your own.
And you know what you know.
And YOU are the guy who'll decide where to go.
You'll look up and down streets.
Look 'em over with care.
About some you will say,
"I don't choose to go there.
"With your head full of brains and your shoes full of feet,
you're too smart to go down any not-so-good street.
And you may not find any
you'll want to go down.
In that case, of course, you'll head straight out of town.
It's opener there
in the wide open air.
Out there things can happen
and frequently do
to people as brainy
and footsy as you.
And when things start to happen,
don't worry. Don't stew.
Just go right along.
You'll start happening too.

OH!THE PLACES YOU'LL GO!

You'll be on your way up!

You'll be seeing great sights!

You'll join the high fliers

who soar to high heights.

You won't lag behind,

because you'll have the speed.

You'll pass the whole gang and you'll soon take the lead.

Wherever you fly,

you'll be the best of the best.

Wherever you go,

you will top all the rest.

Except when you don't

Because, sometimes, you won't.

I'm sorry to say so

but, sadly, it's true

and Hang-ups can happen to you.

You can get all hung up

in a prickle-ly perch.

And your gang will fly on.

You'll be left in a Lurch.

You'll come down from the Lurch

with an unpleasant bump.

And the chances are,

then,that you'll be in a Slump.

And when you're in a Slump,

you're not in for much fun.

Un-slumping yourself

is not easily done.

You will come to a place

where the streets are not marked.

Some windows are lighted.

But mostly they're darked.

A place you could sprain both your elbow and chin!

Do you dare to stay out?

Do you dare to go in?

How much can you lose?

How much can you win?

And IF you go in,

should you turn left or right...

or right-and-three-quarters?

Or, maybe, not quite?

Or go around back and sneak in from behind?

Simple it's not,

I'm afraid you will find,

for a mind-maker-upper to make up his mind.

You can get so confused

that you'll start in to race

down long wiggled roads at

a break-necking pace

and grind on for miles across weirdish wild space,

headed, I fear, toward a most useless place.

The Waiting Place......for people just waiting.

Waiting for a train to goor a bus to come,

or a plane to goor the mail to come,

or the rain to goor the phone to ring,

or the snow to snow

or waiting around for a Yes or a No

or waiting for their hair to grow.

Everyone is just waiting.

Waiting for the fish to bite

or waiting for wind to fly a kite

or waiting around for Friday night

or waiting, perhaps, for their Uncle Jake

or a pot to boil, or a Better Break

or a string of pearls, or a pair of pants

or a wig with curls, or Another Chance.

Everyone is just waiting.

NO!
That's not for you!
Somehow you'll escape
all that waiting and staying.
You'll find the bright places
where Boom Bands are playing.
With banner flip-flapping,
once more you'll ride high!
Ready for anything under the sky.
Ready because you're that kind of a guy!
Oh, the places you'll go!
There is fun to be done!
There are points to be scored.
there are games to be won.
And the magical things you can do with that ball
will make you the winning-est winner of all.
Fame! You'll be famous as famous can be,
with the whole wide world watching you win on TV.
Except when they don't.
Because, sometimes, they won't.
I'm afraid that some times
you'll play lonely games too.
Games you can't win'cause you'll play against you.
All Alone!
Whether you like it or not,
Alone will be something
you'll be quite a lot.
And when you're alone,
there's a very good chance
you'll meet things that scare you right out of your pants.
There are some,
down the road between hither and yon,
that can scare you so much you won't want to go on.
But on you will go
though the weather be foul
On you will go
though your enemies prowl
On you will go
though the Hakken-Kraks howl
Onward up manya frightening creek,
though your arms may get sore
and your sneakers may leak.
On and on you will hike
and I know you'll hike far
and face up to your problems
whatever they are.
You'll get mixed up,
of course,as you already know.
You'll get mixed up
with many strange birds as you go.
So be sure when you step.
Step with care and great tact
and remember that Life's
a Great Balancing Act.
Just never forget to be dexterous and deft.
And never mix up your right foot with your left.
And will you succeed?
Yes! You will, indeed!(98 and 3/4 percent guaranteed.)
KID, YOU'LL MOVE MOUNTAINS!
So...be your name Buxbaum or Bixby or Brayor Mordecai Ali Van Allen O'Shea,
you're off to Great Places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting.
So...get on your way!

Our little Cassie is not so little anymore. She was so excited to start school today, and her teacher said she was really good. Cassie has been waiting a long time for this and it was so fun to watch her do her thing today. Here she is waiting in line after the bell rang.

And here she is at her table. the boy next to her is in Primary with her at church too so it was nice for her to have some ready made friends. I am so excited for her to learn and grow and we are off to a good start. Go Cassie Go!!

The end of summer

Oh this is so crazy. When I was little the end of summer was at the end of summer! This weekend we had our back to school BBQ because Cassie starts school TODAY! Saturday started out with a walk down to Tabernacle to watch the Washington County Parade. Jeff was getting some things done back at the house for the party later. The parade was fun and there was plenty of candy being thrown around. That afternoon we had pizza and cake as well as the water slide. We wanted to celebrate Jessies birthday since we had all of our friends over anyway. I just realized this morning too that the camera had a big fingerpring on the lense so that is why all the pictures are cloudy. Bummer!
This is Jessie holding her Hello Kitty drink conatiner that her friend gave her. She is in love with Hello Kitty right now.

This was the result of us telling Ryan that he couldnt come into the living room with his cookie so he decided to shove the whole thing in his mouth and came walking into the front room all proud of himself.

And this, sigh, is my son in a two piece swimsuit that he brought to me. He really wanted to wear it and I thought it would be funny to see him in it. And that would be a cup that he is holding in his hands. I am not quite sure what his plan was with the cup but it made the picture even funnier.

Lets Par-Tay!

Another birthday has come and gone and it was filled with my favorite things, friends, my family, and lots of eating out. Lilac and I went to 25 main for lunch and had some awesome paninis and a so so good cupcake. We took a little extra time away from the kids and went to Walmart to pick up a few things. I got some really cute fabric for a baby blanket and a carseat canopy for Abby. That afternoon Cassie went to meet her new kindergarden teacher. She starts school Monday and is so excited. After a quick nap with my new comforter (thanks Mom and Dad!) we headed out to the DMV to get some paperwork for the new car and then off to Red Robin for
Jessies birthday is Wednesday so we celebrated for both of us. Way fun!

I have started in on the insomnia stage of pregnancy so I look a bit tired in all my photos but it was also a long long week this week. We had ordered chicken strips for the kids but Ryan wasnt having anything but Jeff's hamburger. He probably ate about a quarter of it. After dinner we headed out to pick up the car and then headed to Costco to get a really big bag of candybars. It was a great birthday and now we are ready to celebrate next week for Jessie.

See Ya Later Alligator

so it was out with the old and in with the new this week. As much as we loved this little green lady (Jeff so much more then I) we were in need of a more reliable vehicle. So we decided to take the government up on its offer to extremly overpay for this little gas guzzler. We didnt need much in the way of a new car it will be used mostly for date night and quick trips with out the kids so we decided on the Chevy Aveo.
Here she is on her first Costo trip. We squeezed all the kids into the back and headed out and quickly decided that we much prefer the van when we are taking all the kids with us. But she is a pretty little thing and I look forward to driving her. I didnt want to crash it on the way home from the dealership so I have not yet been behind the wheel. I think I mught take her out for a spin this afternoon during naptime.

Idaho

The annual trip to Idaho this year turned out a bit chilly but was so much fun as always. There was so much good food and good friends from Jeffs Mission. An exciting new announcement this year, there will be a reunion in Chile in February 2012 so we are so excited to start saving and planning for that trip. The taco wagon was better then ever I wished that I could just keep eating forever!
Pres. Walkers backyard is so lush and green the girls couldnt help themselves and had to create this lovely boquet.

I realized on the way home that I did not get one picture of Cassie while we were there. She was off playing the whole time. The only time I saw her was when she would get hungry, but she couldnt even sit still long enough to eat very much.

By the time the taco wagon came on Saturday afternoon Ryan was in desperate need of a nap. He was mad at me because I kept taking his picture. On the drive home he would cry everytime I turned to look at him. I was laughing so hard because he was sooooo cranky.

I love that the girls always find new friends to play with as well as pick up with old ones they have known from years past.

This was the scene in the car not five minutes after we packed up to head home. They slept almost the whole way from Idaho Falls to West Jordan. We stopped at Famous Daves for dinner in West Jordan to use up a gift card and then stayed up let watching Escape to Witch Mountain with the girls. They loved the movie and watched it again the next morning before we left to head home. The trip was topped off by one last stop in Santaquin to visit Chris Williams and his family and have lunch. It was such a fun trip and we are already making plans for next year.

what the....

I have always been impressed with the common sense in my kids. We have never had a broken bone or a late night rush to the ER because they decided to eat the contents of their piggy bank. Well the day we left for Idaho we had our first lapse in judgement. Jessie usually gets up before the rest of us and just plays quietly in the back room until we are all awake. Well on this morning she came into my room looking very sheepish and just stood there and looked at me. After a while she left then a few minutes later Jeff came in with the whole brood and said Jess had stuck a bead up her nose. She was too embarrased to tell me so she had just stood there hoping I would figure it out I guess. So we went on an extraction excursion and after some trial and error with the extraction tool we had the little bugger in our grasp.
Now what do you suppose would posess a 4 year old to make her put this up her nose?!

Big helper

I was watching a friends baby last Sunday for a few hours and Ryan was so sweet with him we just had to document. He insisted on holding him and feeding him. Then when we were ready to put him in his chair Ryan had to be the one to "carry" him over and buckle him in. I am a little worried that I might have too much help on my hands when little Abby comes home.

New(d) Carwash

There is a new car wash in town so I thought I would take it for a spin. I think they did a pretty good job.
